Welcome to our High Tech Center (HTC) designed exclusively through state-of-the-art assistive technologies and where accessibility to information converges to create an empowering learning environment. At the center, students receive one-on-one support accessing different Web applications to be admitted into our college and the use of computers for completing academic assingments. The HTC staff produces alternate media and provides training and access for the use of assistive technologies.

All students with a disability who are admitted or will be admitted to Student Accessibility Services (SAS) are eligible to use the High Tech Center. 

Services at the High Tech Center are the following:

  • Assistance to current and future students with CCC application, FAFSA application, and SBVC SelfService
  • Tutorial assistance to access SBVC Online Placement, Online Orientation, Course Registration, CANVAS, and the SBVC Financial Aid further processes through SelfService
  • Alternate Media service for conversion of textbooks and classroom print materials into audiobooks, electronic text, Braille, large print, and other formats
  • Test text conversion in alternate media
  • Tutorial assistance, both group and individual, as accommodations are required for Assistive Technology
  • Access to computer use for homework, research, and different academic purposes
  • Accessible furniture (height adjustable tables, ergonomic chairs, and keyboards)
  • Quiet, stress-reduced learning environment to support and enhance educational objectives.

  • Wheelchair Access: Use entrance facing the North Hall Building.
  • Parking: Accessible parking is available in all parking lots. Parking lot # 1 is next to the Liberal Arts Building.
  • Restrooms: There are restrooms near LA-105. Next to the stairs and LA-100 you will find a hallway that leads to the restrooms.
  • Drinking Fountains: These can be found on the hallway in front of the stairs and LA-100.
