Ethnic Studies is an interdisciplinary exploration of race and ethnicity, focusing on the studies of African American, Asian American and Pacific Islander, Chicanx and Latinx, and Indigenous and Native American communities. Rooted in civil rights movements, it examines how race, ethnicity, class, gender, sexuality, and ability shape systemic inequities and social movements. Through theory and historical analysis, students cultivate critical perspectives to envision and strive for justice. Graduates serve communities through education, advocacy, law, policy, and more, fostering meaningful personal and collective transformation.
