Not so long ago, San Bernardino resident Raymond Allison, 52, was shunned by society due to his mile long criminal record. Donning long hair and a beard that passed his chest, he became addicted to any kind of drug he could get, and resorted to living under a bush on the streets of San Bernardino.

Retired Teacher Keeps Bruce Lee's Martial Arts Teachings Alive in Redlands

Tim Tackett began learning the art of Jeet Kune Do in the backyard gyms and garages of those who learned from legendary martial artist Bruce Lee. Nearly 50 years later, Tackett, a retired drama teacher and football coach, continues to open his garage every Wednesday evening to instructors and students of the art.
SBVC Introduces "Fitness Fridays" for Staff

The Professional Development Committee at SBVC started this initiative on October 13 to help release any tension in the body, mind, and spirit for these hard-working campus personnel.
Evelyn Luna: From DREAMer Student to SBVC Counselor

Evelyn Luna knows what it's like to walk in her students' shoes. As a San Bernardino Valley College counselor, Luna works with current and former foster youth enrolled in the Guardian Scholars program as well as DREAMers, many of whom likely have a background similar to hers -- in 1996, she came to the United States from Guatemala as an undocumented immigrant.
