Located in the Campus Center, The Sunroom provides Culinary Arts students
a training lab that doubles as a simulated restaurant experience
Culinary arts students will gain the fundamental knowledge and skills to prepare to be an accomplished professional in the hospitality industry. Students will be introduced to all of the stations within a commercial kitchen including hot service line, sauté, salads, soups, sauces, and all aspects of service. The students will intern in a full service, student run kitchen.
Other coursework includes: Menu Planning Principles, Quantity Food Preparation, Safety and Sanitation, Cost Control, Restaurant Service and Catering, Hospitality and Customer Service, Food, Wine and Beverage Service Concepts, and Catering Management.

During the fall and spring semesters, Culinary Arts students work in The Sunroom, The Den and The SBVC Food Truck to gain experience in food service and restaurant management.
The Sunroom is open to students and the public from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.
The menu changes from month to month with options ranging from $2.50 for a cup of soup to $14.00 for a steak entree. Other menu choices include: vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options. Beverages and dessert are also available.
